Who We Are
Lauren and Claudia have worked together for over 25 years, with a collective 63 years of experience as medical speech-language pathologists (SLP). In addition to their clinical practices, they have led training workshops and educational talks for the public and other service providers. Both have lifetime experience as musicians, performers, and voice specialists.
-
Lauren started her adult life as a music major (piano and voice) at Syracuse University. After realizing that “professional musician” is a hard gig, she transferred to Harvard University to finish her degree in linguistics. After realizing that “professional linguist” is also a hard gig, she got her Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Vermont, and has been working in communication, language, sound, and music ever since. She has discovered her background to be a perfect foil for exploring, enjoying, and improving people’s voices. Lauren’s current practice is as a specialist vocal coach for adult and older teen singers of all abilities.

Claudia has been providing adult voice services for all types of voice users including singers, professional speakers, coaches, and gender transition since 1981. She started with a BA in “Radio & Television” from Ball State University then began working on-air for the college public radio station and performing with community theatres. After graduation, she moved into tech and voice-overs for a mid-market ABC affiliate, became a professional actress for a few years, then went back to school at Saint Louis University for her “grown-up” Master’s degree in Communication Disorders (Speech Therapy). She has been interested in speech and voices, her own and others, most of her life. You’ll find her on stage or behind a microphone whenever the opportunity arises.
